Video Interview of World Winder on Long Term Travel

It’s always great meeting fellow New Yorkers on the travel trail.  For one thing you can share anecdotes about how excited locals get when you tell them you are from The Empire State.  Many times when I tell a local I’m from New York they get all amped like I’m some long lost Baldwin cousin or Jay-Z’s butler’s uncle.  But most well traveled New Yorkers realize that being from NY is no big deal and we play it cool.  I’m not more interesting than many folks I’ve met at the Great Smoky Mountains or in Phoenix, Arizona.

Days after our interview with

We were especially pleased to meet New York bloggers like Jeff Dobbins and Sheila and Mark from Married2Travel at TBEX Europe this past September.  After being far from home the past fourteen months, it’s nice to meet up with others who understand most of the jokes from Seinfeld and can appreciate a good diner meal.  Melissa connected with Sheila through Twitter and invited her to join us in Girona with our new friend Mandy in la Plaza de la Independencia.  We bonded with her and Mark and learned that they’d be on our pre-TBEX trip to the Dali Museum the following day.

The next day Married2Travel asked if we’d be interested in being the subject of an interview on our long term travel.  We said we were down.  Two days later we were interviewed in Girona, Spain during the TBEX Speed Dating event.  It was the first of three interviews we took part in that day.  The following video is World Winder’s first official interview on the web.  Check it out and subscribe to their YouTube page.

Topics include: How we managed to save money for an extended journey, staying safe in South America, and travel for vegetarians.  Then be sure to check out and enjoy Mark and Sheila’s journeys.
